on September 16th your new album LÄUFT., published on Nouveau Niveau Records, will be released exclusively on Beatport and it will be available commercially on September 30th. What can we expect from your new album?
I think this album will give a good musical overview of my taste in music. It's understood that the album focuses on Techno, but it was also important for me to show the different facets of my music. Techno is not the same as techno and electronic music is not the same as electronic music.
The listener can expect ten tracks which are not only produced for the dance floor. They shall also be a listening pleasure at home and take the people on a musical journey. I didn't take the easy way out and worked on the album for more than a year, fiddling around with new sounds and collecting ideas. In some cases these new ideas rearranged whole tracks, which were in fact already finished, and created something completely new.
Today, looking back on the development process, I'm really impressed. But it wasn't always that easy to realise this extensive project alongside my DJ gigs and my occupation at radio sunshine-live for my weekly radio show, which I prepare during the week. Finally, and with a little bit of patience, everything went well and I'm really proud of the result.
Furthermore, for a DJ it's certainly an awesome feeling to stand in front of thousands of celebrating people, as for example at this year's Mayday in Germany at the beginning of May, and to play one of my own tracks from the album for the very first time. The people almost freaked out. This was an incredible feeling, which is not possible to describe.
The album will be released on the label Nouveau Niveau. Why especially this label?
Tom Novy, head of Nouveau Niveau is effectively an old hand in the electronic music scene and contributes a lot of experience and dedication to the newly founded label. We share similar views concerning music and the communication with Tom and his team at Nouveau Niveau is simply great. The label is very friendly, invigorating, young and honest. Furthermore, they attach great importance to musical variety and quality.
In marked contrast, Nouveau Niveau is a very young label (est. 2010), but the people working there are very experienced and professional. This really tops it off and I am sure that the album is in the right hands.
